I wanted a black bag that did not look like a work bag and did not look like a gym bag. Nocturne is neither. It folds against my hip, the strap stays on my coat shoulder, and there is exactly one piece of hardware on the entire thing, which I love.
The suede is dense and soft at the same time, and the black has not faded or shone up at the stress points after six weeks of daily use. It holds more than it looks like it should - a paperback, a water bottle, a small pouch all disappear into it.
Beautiful slouchy shape and the gold ring is the perfect single accent. I wish it had one small interior pocket for keys, but honestly the clean interior is part of its charm. Air dried perfectly after an unexpected rainstorm.
Before you ask
The slouch is the design, not damage. Out of the box the body stands half-structured and softens to its intended fold within two weeks of use. Stuffing with tissue during storage keeps the curve graceful.
No interior pocket, by choice - the clean single compartment is the point of the shape. Most customers use a small pouch inside for keys and cards; any of our card cases pairs well.
A 13-inch tablet or small laptop, a water bottle, a paperback and a pouch all fit with room to spare. It is the largest of the daily-carry shapes without becoming a weekender.
Mill suede of this density does not transfer color when dry. Like all suede it should not be worn drenched against light silk or linen while wet; after a soak, air dry it away from heat before wearing again.
